The outstanding planning application for converting the abandoned Network Rail tracks to a tramway, still has not been determined after 9months.
All the statutory consultees except one, submitted letters of support before February, which can be read on the Preston City Council website. A response from Lancashire County Council, is still awaited. A site meeting at the tramway junction with Deepdale Mill Street took place on 31st August with Stuart Gailey of the County Highways Dept. The application has now been delegated to Neil Stevens in County Hall. This lack of response is holding up the project.
